    Zijiang is the largest river within Ziyuan County. Originated from the northeast foot of Mao’er Mount, the first peak in South China, it vigorously goes northward, flows into the territory of Hunan Province and finally injects into the Dongting Lake, and it belongs to the Yangtze River Water System. The drift section of the Zijiang River stretches a total of 22`5 kilometers from the point of 5 kilometers at the lower reach of the seat of Ziyuan County to Hujiatian of Meixi Town, crosses 45 shoals and turns 31 bends. While it has the loftiness and steepness of its own style, it is also as pure and graceful as the Lijiang River in Guilin.     On both sides of the Zijiang River are well-preserved vegetations. With relatively stable flux and velocity of flow, it runs through marvelous mountains like a jade belt.
